We’re thrilled to bring a new weekend farmers market to Ward 7 — fresh local produce, artisan goods, hot prepared foods, SNAP/EBT acceptance, and Market Matching to make healthy eating easy and affordable for everyone.

We will be hosting our first vendor recruitment workshop — hands-on sessions to help local producers get ready (licensing, SNAP/WIC, pricing tips).

Finish our vendor handbook — clear rules, tips, and how to make healthy food affordable for Ward 7 shoppers.

Roll out simple registration for vendors and early community sign-ups so you can stay in the loop.

Opening Soon – Summer 2026! Fridays–Sundays, 11am–6pm (March–November) — fresh food, local vendors, hot meals, SNAP/EBT, Produce Plus matching, and Bread Coin tokens so everyone can enjoy and afford healthy, delicious options.

A Bit About Me and the Market-
My name is Don and I'm managing the upcoming Ward 7 Farmers Market Initiative, a community-driven project to establish a weekly farmers market in Ward 7, Washington, DC.
Our exciting project seeks to achieve two main goals:
1. To combat food insecurity in this food desert by providing affordable, fresh produce, nutrition education, and;
2. To create economic opportunities for local vendors—all while fostering equity and sustainability
We aim to have an all hands on deck Farmers Market and introduce a brand-new gathering spot right in the heart of our neighborhood, pending our launch in 2026 to bring fresh, local flavor back to everyday life.
We're a small, producer-focused market created by and for our community.
Every Friday to Sunday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, you'll find a carefully curated lineup of local farmers, bakers, artisans, and small-batch makers.
No long-haul middlemen here—just the people who grew, raised, or made it right in the City, ready to share their story and answer your questions.
We believe knowing where your food comes from matters, and we love the conversations that happen when neighbors meet producers face-to-face.
Our little market is about more than shopping—it's about building connections.
We're committed to supporting small and beginning farmers, keeping dollars circulating right here in our community, and making fresh, healthy food accessible to everyone.
We proudly accept SNAP/EBT, offer matching programs for fresh produce, and work to keep prices fair and welcoming.
